Mr Michael Stevenson

Michael Stevenson is a visionary strategic leader in education, driving worldwide innovation in policy and programmes. Working with senior policy makers, thought leaders and experts, he has held international, national and city-based roles across government, industry and media.

Michael founded and leads the OECD High Performing Systems for Tomorrow initiative. HPST brings together British Columbia (Canada), Estonia, Finland, Germany, Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom to co-create new education purposes, policies and practices in support of human flourishing in an AI world. The newly completed Education for human flourishing framework, developed over a five-year series of international policy dialogues, is shaping the future of PISA and influencing national policy around the world.

He also directs a major research project on learning ecosystems in Latin America, Africa and India, working with Learning Planet Institute in Paris. And he is leading the creation of a Talent and Innovation Ecosystem in his hometown Doncaster, in England.

He has led education at Cisco Systems and the BBC.
