Flourishing Network Summit
The Flourishing Network Summit is the annual international convening of the Human Flourishing Program’s Flourishing Network. The Summit brings together researchers, educators, practitioners, community leaders, and changemakers from around the world who share a commitment to advancing human flourishing. The Summit provides a unique opportunity to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, showcase innovative work, and build collaborations across disciplines and sectors.
The Flourishing Network, hosted by the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University, convenes a global community of people interested in understanding, measuring, and promoting flourishing. Through regular discussions and collaborative learning, members explore diverse approaches to fostering well-being in individuals, organisations, communities, and societies. The Network provides opportunities to engage with the flourishing framework and research of the Human Flourishing Program, while developing meaningful collaborations across research, policy, education, healthcare, business, and civic life.
The Summit serves as an in-person gathering of this growing international community. Participants will have opportunities to learn from leading scholars and practitioners, engage with Flourishing Network Interest Groups, share emerging research and practical initiatives, and explore new possibilities for collaboration. Discussions will address topics such as the measurement of flourishing, interventions that enhance well-being, character development, education for flourishing, organisational culture, and pathways toward healthier and more thriving communities.
Above all, the Summit is designed to foster meaningful connection among those working to understand and promote human flourishing. By bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences, we hope to strengthen a shared commitment to creating the conditions in which individuals, organisations, and societies can flourish.
Summit Principles
Our aspiration is ecosystem-wide flourishing: advancing well-being not only for individuals, but also for organisations, communities, institutions, societies, and the world.
Relationships and love are central to flourishing: meaningful connections are fundamental to human well-being and to the health of our communities and institutions.
Character is foundational to flourishing: virtues and character strengths support lives of meaning, purpose, service, and contribution.
Collaboration accelerates impact: sustained dialogue and partnership across disciplines and sectors create new opportunities for learning and positive change.
The Summit is generously supported by The Bridge and The Human Flourishing Institute at Wellington College who are leading on the organisation. We look forward to welcoming both longstanding members of the Flourishing Network and new participants for two days of learning, connection, reflection, and collaboration.
