He is the 2020 Indiana Classical Conference Teacher of the Year, Rising Star, where he served as President in 2021-22. Further, he was one of 60 teachers (from nearly 13,000 nominations from 112 countries) shortlisted for the 2021 Cambridge University Press Dedicated Teacher Awards. Last, he has been selected as for the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at his undergraduate alma mater, Northern Illinois University.

What interests you the most about the potential for Leadership and Flourishing?

Leadership for Flourishing is the most dynamic, inspiring group of professionals I've ever worked with. This collection of researchers and practitioners has the potential to effect real, long-lasting change in communities all around the world. This group cares about people on the deepest level and are passionate about sustained, selfless projects aimed at improving human flourishing at all levels of society.

What are you most excited about working on?

I can't wait to work more with this group on developing resources for a Leadership for Flourishing Model that can be shared widely. In my work at a boarding school we work to cultivate leaders with a deep sense of purpose and social responsibility along with a lifelong commitment to cultivation of character. A workable Leadership for Flourishing Framework would be invaluable for our community and for communities everywhere giving young people the tools for lifelong virtue acquisition!
